How To Run Your Bloodied Builds With Low Health In Fallout 76?

When you start playing Fallout 76, you’ll often see people running around with so much radiation that they almost turn into ghouls. But in fact, it’s one of the most powerful ways to play the game.

Know that playing with low health can make you powerful. There are many Mutations and Perks you can use to deal more damage than normal and survive longer than you expect. In this guide, I’ll show you how to successfully run low-health Bloodied builds and gain great power in Fallout 76.

Bloodied Builds Balanced

If you’ve played Fallout 4, you should be familiar with Bloody Weapons and Unyielding Armor. If your health is low, they give you extra damage and extra attributes. You’ll get more buffs, but you’ll die more easily. And if the save fails, you can lose a lot of progress, so most people won’t use them.

But things are different in Fallout 76. The biggest difference is that there is no penalty for death in online games. Of course, you lose your Fallout 76 Items, but you can pick it up again. What’s more, even if you die again before picking it up and lose it permanently, it’s not a big deal, as you’ll still have a chance to get more items.

Mutations and Perks are also new in online play, and you can use them to make you very tanky. So you have enough stamina to play, even if your health is low. This is what truly makes Bloodied builds balanced.

Find The Right Armor Set

If you have a complete Unyielding Armor set, you can significantly increase your attributes. The 5 pieces mean +15 to all stats at 20% health or below.

The caveat is that you may have to wait a long time to get them randomly, but more likely you’ll need to spend more Fallout 76 Bottle Caps to roll them. So ideally you can try other top armors.

We are considering BOS Recon Armor, Secret Service Armor or Covert Scout Armor. If you want better ballistic protection, choose BOS Recon Armor. If you want more balanced protection, use Secret Service Armor. Or if you want more sneak perk, you can also use Covert Scout Armor.

You can get plans for Covert Scout and BOS Recon Armor from Daily Ops. But you can also buy plans for all armor types from Vault 79 or Minerva. So, before starting, don’t forget to buy Fallout 76 Caps with enough amount.

But I would suggest it’s best to wait until you get endgame gear before trying a low health build. Because it is almost impossible to completely obtain the three legendary properties you want, and even obtaining two properties is very difficult.

Because I’ve been looking for a complete Sentinel Armor Set for extra damage reduction, but I’m still not close. So don’t bother trying anything other than Unyielding legendary property in the first place.

How To Keep Health Low?

So, what are the best ways for us to maintain poor health? The answer is radiation.

Just like in Fallout 4, your health will be limited if you get enough radiation. But how much is enough? A little under 20% is ideal. This will enable all benefits that activate when low health and provide the maximum stat boost to your Unyielding Armor.

Exactly how you get the radiation is up to you, but a common method is to shoot yourself with a radiation gun. Don’t forget to equip Starched Genes perk to avoid gaining or losing mutations until your score falls below 20%.

You can also eat bad food and drink bad water. I personally carry a bunch of cooked food for an energy boost, a lot of which is rotten before I need to eat it, so I can eat rotten meats and vegetables to fine-tune my radiation level to just under 20%.

Perks & Mutations

Perks and Mutations have a tremendous impact on the survival of people with poor health. In single player it’s all about your armor and other equipment, but in online you can become quite a tank even if you’re naked if you choose the right skills.

So what are these perks? Serendipity under luck is the best. At level three, you can avoid 45% of attacks outright if your health is low enough. This isn’t a 45% reduction in damage, but a 45% chance of taking zero damage.

Ricochet under luck has an 18% chance of reflecting some damage back to the enemy. Enemies take 25% of your own weapon’s damage, but it’s important that you avoid this 25%.

This perk also has the hidden benefit of taking advantage of weapon attributes. If you are carrying a Vampiric weapon, you will be healed when this perk triggers.

Dodgy under Agility reduces all incoming damage by 30% by sacrificing Action Points. You should pair it with Action Boy for faster AP recovery. You can also carry AP-boosting food, which you can spam when your AP is low.

These three combined have a lot of tanking power, and you should still be using Dodgy and Ricochet even if you’re playing at full health.

I recommend not using Lone Wanderer, even though it gives you 20% less damage. You’re better off using mutations and being part of a team. If you have extra perks, you can still use them, but it’s unlikely to benefit you much because of the diminishing returns of resistance.

One mutation that must occur if your health is low is Adrenal Reaction. If you’re below 20% health, it gives you up to 50% bonus damage. That’s huge, and coupled with excellent weapon and damage-boosting abilities, it makes a noticeable difference in how quickly you kill enemies.

Basically, if you have this mutation and a suitable Fallout 76 weapon, you can skip the damage boosting perk.

Gameplay

As we all know, the offensive power of Glass Cannon build comes at the cost of vulnerability. But as I said before, if you choose the right perk, you won’t be that vulnerable.

I have activated Serendipity and Ricochet, Action Girl to refresh AP, and Dodgy. Additionally, Nerd Rage will be activated, so we will gain an additional 40 damage resistance. Considering all the perks, even if the bullet hits, it will only do a few points of damage.

But melee combat is still a problem. So let me add Blocker so we can focus on gun damage. Basically, unless you’re surrounded by enemies, the perks will keep you alive long enough to allow you to heal any damage you take. So it’s very doable to play the game with low health as long as you pay attention.

Power Armor Sets

But in some cases, especially Mutation Daily Ops, you need extra protection. That’s when you can take out your Power Armor sets.

Unfortunately, there are no Unyielding legendaries for Power Armor here, so you’ll have to sacrifice Unyielding attribute bonuses. But instead, you get a huge damage reduction boost. Just wearing Power Armor Frame inherently reduces damage by 42%.

There’s also Emergency Protocols Torso Mod, which allows you to take another 50% less damage if you’re low on health. This makes you very tanky. And it’s only in Daily Ops when mutations bypass armor that you really run the risk of dying within a few hits.

On top of that, you get the full set of Overeaters Legendary, which reduces damage by an additional 24%. It would be even better if you could also get Sentinel’s property.

Therefore, it’s a good idea to keep a set of Power Armor with you so that you can whip it out during Daily Ops and more dangerous events.

Outro

Overall, the combination of more damage, more accuracy, and more critical brought by this low-health Bloodied builds can have a tremendous impact on your combat effectiveness. That’s a lot more than you might imagine just looking at the raw damage numbers.

Although the cost of the build will be a bit higher and your radiation will have to be managed, you will rarely die during normal gameplay or public events.

So, what do you think of this Bloodied build? Would you try a low health build? See if you like it. See you next time!
